if you mean the alexa toolbar or anything with search..
perhaps you like to know alexa = full of adware and virusses right now.

Do you know exactly what viruses and spyware Alexa toolbar propagates? I know some spyware removers detect the Alexa dll as as adware, but thats because the toolbar communicates with alexa server about http request information. Most adware removal software will obviously consider that adware because the whole premise of adware is that it is a unintentionally installed piece of software that is communicating marketing data about your surfing habits. Alexa toolbar is intentionally installed by it's users.
Also, isn't it Google that's under fire right now from the Feds about turning over their records? Does that give you a clue as to which internet entity is keeping more elaborate records on your surfing habits. Remember Adsense is everywhere, it logs your ip to pages+date+time.

i do not know exactly everything about those alexa virusses
but i got a friend who told me about it.
he said alexa contains virusses now and i should not use it.
google is under attack too but way less than alexa.
because google has a better protection and does not inflict damage to your pc.
the virusses attacking google stays within google and does not spread out to other connections.

I have uninstalled the alexa toolbar, I installed it on one machine in particular and it literally slowed it down by half! (this is the machine I do software doemo's on, so not good!)
When I ran Adaware it found 52 items to remove!!! I took them off, uninstalled Alexa and the machine was back to normal. Unfortunately I took little notice of what they were.

IE is pretty bad, you have to use it to use Alexa. I started using Firefox a few months ago because I got this strange virus where all the webpages I viewed had green hyperlinks to spam, and the Winfixer popup thing kept crashing both of my computers, so I reinstalled the OS and started using Firefox. I have IE with Alexa I use only for sites that need IE, and it is significantly slower than Firefox, and spyware on my system always after an IE session.

wow - that's actually pretty cool and I think it can actually be useful.... If I was looking for something really niche, it would be good to try that engine for authority information only.....
