When creating an ad on index page for product sales make sure it is no further than 2 click(s) away from index (home page).

Click 1 = theme

Click 2 = sale

That's a very good point..... Each click is anopther chance of the user losing interest and not following through....

It's got to be as quick and easy as possible, with little distraction...

Once the sale is made why keep selling them. Time for the close Bro-

I work pretty heavily with portal technologies. The whole ethos for them is a two-click philosophy. If you can adhere to that as much as possible, site usability is increased significantly.

There's little point in creating content/functionality if no-one can navigate towards it easily.

Click 1 = theme
Click 2 = sale

Top quallity advice and straight to the point providing you direct targeted traffic that way, naturally through the se's ? so does that count as 3 clicks lol

2 clicks and a sale would be nice and i will keep that in mind a bit for future

When I was younger, I used to be a Timeshare Salesman. That was the best education in sales I have ever received. To have someone, who has no intention to buy, and leave 90 minutes later, spending $26,000, is nothing less than miraculous.

Timeshare salesmen are taught this:

1) Greeting - you have 20 seconds for the prospect to like and to trust you. If you give a negative impression, seem distant, or act condescending by word or gesture, your done. {How could you apply this to your theme page on your site?}

2) Less information is better - people are smarter than we think, lead them to the sale. Use large headings, so users can quickly scan contextual paragraphs.

3) Choice/Options? - Always give the prospect a choice such as 3, 6, 9, 12-month membership - never say 12-month membership or nothing. And be direct, people enjoy the direct approach, it makes you seem trustworthy (When closing the sale, make it simple and direct.)

Example: look at some pages I wrote to entice an indirect sale/where as my sale page is direct.

(http://www.bransoncritic.org/Timeshareshow.htm) You guy's will figure it out, because you’re in the business, but it subtleties is killer. At this time I am using these 3 pages to lure people in from the net on timeshare.

Timeshare salesmen have a terrible reputation. It is very difficult to make a sale on the Internet, due to the lack of trust. In fact, I was told it is impossible in our modern day.

Well, I took the challenge head on and believed with the right approach, using simplicity, honesty, and while being direct, the sale could be accomplished.

It turns out that the mousetrap works and is growing in popularity.:)

I made some onpage changes to one of my projects based on this discussion....

It is very important that as we get so caught up on what it takes to get that visitor in the door through search, that if we do not focus just as much on what to do with that visitor when they get there, we'll lose that potential sale and thus loose our investment in time, money or whatever it may be......

Solid advice. :jiggy:

One way to be direct is to show the absolute URL (http:// www. blah blah .com/) when leading them from a theme page, to the closing sale page.

Example: your theme page is describing the benefits of polarized sunglasses.

1) You would not want to hyperlink “polarized sunglasses” to the sale page. User would expect more information upon clicking that link and rightly so. Honesty comes to play when you give an absolute URL for polarized sunglasses if you are taking them to the closing sale page.

Example: assume everything in the paragraph below that is underlined, is hyperlinked, ok?

1) Blahhhh blagg blafffffff blahhhhhh is the great benefits that come from polarized sunglasses. Also, the John B Goodman study says’s blahhh blahhhhhhh blahhhhhh about polarized sunglasses.

Now that you are well informed, we would like to invite you to visit our product page on this very subject. Please visit our sunglasses here at http : // www. on polarized glasses. com/

Now that is honesty, and your sales should rise following a similar formula.

Click twice – make sale.

And I guess that a person who clicks on such a link is much more interested in buying polarized glasses because of the way the text is phrased...

That is correct,

Honesty = sales (long term)

Your correct Andy,

All sales are the same. Never try to change the wheel.

1) Greeting

2) Argument of facts

3) Close

It’s just that you have to do it quicker on the net...lol

is it a bad idea to use my index page for most of my kewords instead of landing paages??
Main plural word for index only. Than use singular forms for sibling pages (landing).

Update,

Honesty in clickable URL that leads to sale page has increased sales 2 fold. "Click Twice - Make Sale," is continually proving itself on our sites.

One new thing we are experimenting with in marketing is what we call "purpose of page landed. " This is for users who land on a sale page only. It is a quick taste of the sales pitch to come and is designed with putting the stress that buyer normaly feels at ease.

I will let you know how it goes...:lie:
