Since things like the time your domain is registered for etc are supposed to make some difference for SEO I am wondering if having an IP "and" a secure cert "SSL Cert" on your site would help? Does anyone know?

Does anyone think it is worth a try placing some content on secure pages so the SE's can easily see you have an SSL cert on your site? Seems to me it should get you some points.

It could be a possibility though.... You do not have to have the pages though.... Whois (http://www.whois.sc)data knows if your server has a certificate....

Since google and the other SE's are looking for signs of legitimacy in order to pass judgment upon your site and declare you good or baaaad and I have not seen any Spam or scraper site with SSL certs I figure it could only help since it would be yet another sign you took the site seriously enough to get the SSL cert. I doubt they would look at things like are or are you not really doing e-commerce. I think it would be more simple as in: dedicated IP yes = positive points. Domain registered for 5 yrs, yes = positive points SSL cert on the site, yes = positive points.

For me the SSL cert is easier then the IP as we have an IP shortage right now. I have another network that I can place servers on in another county but that requires another server and all the required licensing etc. Still I think I'll move that direction as I can always use the new server for customer sites etc. (I am in the hosting biz)
