Best Sites for Links

I have been submitting to a lot of directories, and I believe the pages of blazemp.com (http://www.blazemp.com/) are pretty well optimized (correct me if I'm wrong). I have also done some optimization on some of the pages on the other sites. Let's take this page as an example... www.blazemp.com/cd_ripper_software.htm (http://www.blazemp.com/cd_ripper_software.htm) I am trying to go after the CD ripper key phrase. I have it linked on a number of sites, but obviously not enough. What do you recommend as the best way to get something like that accomplished (a high ranking for that key phrase)? Is there any sites that stand above the others (other than Yahoo and DMOZ)? Any tips you can offer would really be appreciated. I have made my way up to page 1 for photo editing software and photo resizer for www.autoimager.com (http://www.autoimager.com/) (well, actually, the photo resizer one is a page on mystikmedia.com (http://www.mystikmedia.com/), but it's for the AutoImager product). Same for video editing software, video editing, and video converter for www.blazemp.com (http://www.blazemp.com/). Anyway, I have quite a few that do have good rankings, but still a lot that need work too. My biggest problem is that I have too many keywords that are all very relevent to the applications (being very all-in-one by design).

I have been using LinkWorth.com, but I don't think I am going to be able to renew it. The plan was that if I got a lot of links for the pages/key phrases, I would rank better in the search engines and therefore get more downloads and sales as a result. I have ranked better in the search engines, and my sales have increased. However, not to the level that it would take to keep that going (I went a little crazy with the links there). What are your thoughts on this? Really just looking for any tips, suggestions, best sites to get links with, etc. My content is multimedia (audio/video) and graphics software, so specific to that would be even better, but also looking for any recommendations you have. I have learned a lot recently, but still have more to learn. :)

From what I see the on page optimization really isn't bad...

with every engine working differently it's hard to say what's optimized right and what's not... Every site will perform differently in most engines...

What I do see is a page that more than likely will do better in Yahoo and MSN than Google...

BUT - The page was just crawled by Google TODAY! So that is a very good sign... If you can keep Google coming back to the site on a daily basis, you've got something it's wants to keep looking at...

I found only two alt's with "CD ripper" so your not over-doing that....
As far as on page text, it does look a bit spammy with all the bolds, but sometimes these sites perform well at a borderline level....

Where are most of your referrers coming from? which engines? I'm guessing Yahoo and MSN, but if you've got the links, I could see it getting traffic from all.....

Someone else said that to me too about MSN and Yahoo liking is better than Google. BUT...the weird thing is...nothing could be further from the truth. Take a look at this week's numbers so far... (since yesterday)

I've actually got some very good positions on MSN, but I guess it just doesn't get the volume of traffic at this time. This MSN traffic is very new too, whereas I have been getting good Google traffic for a while now. Yahoo has increased recently too. mystikmedia.com, my main site, actually gets more traffic than this one. Yet is has only a few pages that are really optimized. The problem with the traffic for this site is that most of it is not well targetted. My "article"-type pages on DRM protection and a solution to record and therefore convert it is where most of the traffic comes from there. Anyway, it's numbers are (since yesterday):

So, as you can see, it is very different, except for Google, as the top engines. Anyway, I appreciate your feedback. I have fit most of the directories on your list. However, I have bookmarked it to go through again. The problem is that I did not know about how important the text was that is in the links until relatively recently. So, I submitted to _a lot_ of directories using just the program name as the title. :-/ So, I am going through now seeing if some of them will let me update or trying to submit additional listings with better title text. I am also submitting some of the sub-pages as possible. I need to do more of that, I think.

Most of those directories should let you change the link text....

and definetly a great idea to start deeplinking... ;)
