Build Links via Request

We all get those requests through emails like:
"hey, you link to my site and I'll link to yours".

I get them all day long, but they still work if you use them effectively....

Now I am mostly the reciever in these situations as I do not request links often. I do however respond to anyone that sends me one of the emails IF the 2 circumstances are present:

1 - They have related information that I might link to anyway.
2 - THEY HAVE A NAME AND PHONE NUMBER!

I no-longer do any link exchanges via email unless the person specifies a name and phone number for me to call...

If I call them it does two things:

1 - Lets them know I'm serious about the partnership.
2 - Insures that they remember our exchange for a long period of time.

So, just a quick note to say that you can still aquire good free link partners if you go about it the right way...

Almost all of these requests feeds my delete button. Even if they are relevant and not automated. (I have a submisson form that even does not require a reciprocal link ??? ) Lately I've recieved some email requests from respecrtable competitors. Maybe these are the only email link exchange invitations that I pay serious attention to.

Don't you love the automated ones that threaten you with removal of your link from their site if you do not reciprocate...lol:rolleyes:

I get so many, it's really not funny... But once in a while, I'll see a decent one, and if it's got life to it, I'll respond..

I'm usually at the sending end and once in a while I do get mails for link exchange and I end up making them my link building client....:banana: :clap:

When you're the new guy starting out with a low PR, I guess buying and begging for links has to be done.

Great content is a must, but if you're nowhere in the SERPS then no-one can find it.

thats where Good content comes into play. You need to show your website's worth somewhere if not PR wise.:lol:

Well nothing can substitute valuable content on your website. If you do happen to create one, you don't need to market your website for links.

your website will market itself and webmasters would approach you for exchanging links with them...:banana: :clap:
