welcome superbrand,
whenever you comment on a Blog, you also specify a url of your website in the form which becomes a one-way link to your site.
how about first trying to experience the beauty of the Blogs and then go on to exploit the services...
blogs are cool you can submit articles to places or post links to them here and there, people are interested in things like that, also you get links pointing to the things you really want from them
have you got a blog we can read ?
btw thats a cool blog clasione

What there trying to say is; by having a blog upon your domain, you can write content on the fly, quickly, easily, and without the knowing off it having to be absolutely correct like a static webpage, and it encourages people to link to what your writing. Whether your writing constructive articles, point form, new industry items, new products, services, trends, etc etc etc, you are encouraging natural linking to your site. If your blog is part of your domain, and not hosted at a third party domain, then your main domain will get the benefit.
Now, saying that is easy, but you still have to advertise your blog, though this is much easier than conventional means. If your blog is attached to your site, and your site is already well marketed / on its way to being well marketed, then whatever you write will automatically be given some credible weight within the search engines, as they love new content from existing sites. If your site marketing sucks, and you are looking at a blog to do all the work, then your barking up the wrong tree. Once you have a blog on your site, you need to get about to all the RSS search engines, and list your feed. That then gives your new content a chance in many major search engines, and all those subscribing to those feeds from the RSS engines (which can be millions depending on topic).
Setting up your blog, you should naturally assume the same sort of template look / theme as the rest of your site... just work it in as a news reference or the like. A blog will generally encourage other blogs to link to your article of interest, though some sites will make a permanent link to an article if off significant value. So, the better you write, the better your chances. The better your advertise your RSS feed, the better your chances. It's a slow process, though can certainly provide a substantial traffic volume when done right. It doesn't mean the traffic is targeted, though the traffic is generally interested in what you have to read. So if your blog is themed into your site, then the user has no problem at all navigating to your other content if they so desire.
Hope that helps.
