I think it is somehing that Google and other search engines need to take into consideration when ranking blogs.
As a blog is a free tool, in most cases it is relitevely easy for people to set up multiple blogs.....
I would imagine that a quick fix to the situation would be that Google can only do it's best to ensure that the actual site of the company ranks very well on that first page....
It could be a good thing. If Google puts more weight on blogs than they do on actual company sites, they may try even harder to find and identify those compnay sites and make sure they take either spot 2 or 3 at worst....
Maybe this could be a great thing if your focusing on your company name....

I was reading something about this just recently actually, and Google and the rest are already on it. They are developing means into the algorithm for those circumstances, adsense farms, and lots more. It will simply rollout within the algorithm as developed, like normal.
