Besides Copyscape, is there a free tool to check whether content on website 1 is duplicated as in website 2?
Kindly advice.

Copyscape is what I use and it works really good. I don't see the need to find something else.

Thanks for the share....
What engine does copyscape work from?
Wonder how long it would take them to pick up two pages i made on 2 different servers, how do they spider the web?
it would be cool if there was something else to compair it to but its only copyscape ruler of the universe.

I believe they have some sort of affiliation with Google. I am also pretty sure that Google uses Copyscape.

I'd bet they do.....
I actually find yahoo better for picking up four or five words, part of a sentance.
But Google do rule the universe, so thats cool .

Or you can just take a section of text you know would be unique and search it inside "" thats whjat I do to make sure nobopdy has copied my content. Theres a lot of that going on with product descriptions in our niche

I also used copyscape in checking duplicate content.
I hired a freelancer to write me the pages for a site because i dont have time and he checked them for plagiarism at articlechecker.com , has anyone ever heard of it before?

can't you just type in a phase or word combo in goole and it should give you the sites with the same words... then you can use your own judgement to determine if it is duplicate content.
