when surfing for any site...
1. in what direction you usually read, is it horizontal or vertical?
2. on what part of the site that first caught your attention?
3. what part of the site that you consider as hotspot/coldspot?
4. what backgrounds & colors that you feel relax & comfortable browsing the site?
any opinions are greatly much appreciated. thanks. ;)

according to a research done, on any webpage, there is a pyramid type of focus..
thats is the region in which most people look is like a pyramid such that the tip is at the top middle of the webpage n the base towards the lower bottom.
so anything falling within this region is visible and rest appears as if it doesn't exist.
As for colors, any color whcih appears to sooth your eys are ok...but pitch black and anything dark is complete no no

I go top - down - left - bottom - up right.

i suppose it totally depends upon how the webpage is set out,
thats a tricky question really
I mean google you look straight forward to the centre at and others the point of attention is top left

Start top left (assuming western layout). Read across and then back to left and work your way down. Like a page.
When you hit something of interest to yourself, then this may change. A huge % of pages have the nav on the left, that can't be an accident...

thanks..its good to hear different opinions..;)
when surfing for any site...
1. in what direction you usually read, is it horizontal or vertical?
Horizontal
2. on what part of the site that first caught your attention?
Top Center=Header/logo/graphic
3. what part of the site that you consider as hotspot/coldspot?
HOT=wherever navigation is
COLD=lengthy text areas n too much flash
4. what backgrounds & colors that you feel relax & comfortable browsing the site?
I like darker bg (mine toooo dark heh, need to "lighten it up") with focus pts light; i.e., thumz, graphics and text. Sort of a light at end of tunnel focus getter.
any opinions are greatly much appreciated. thanks. ;)
A real turnoff to me is having to install plug-ins, getting to a site that has enter here (see it alot and never understood the why of this), and distracting junk that is unimportant site info but draws attention away from whatever I wish to focus on.
