Here are a few reasons why I hope Pagerank never goes away.....
(For the Record)
1 - Weighing a Document - Pagerank quickly and easily tells me if there is a reason to start reading.... If it's got high pagerank, generally, it's worth the read...
2 - Checking Dead Links - I've noticed that after a short amount of time which a document isn't accessable, even a high pagerank site will completely loose all of it's pagerank.... I think it is somewhere around a month.... When checking for dead links, If it still has pagerank, then you can assume it is only temporary and has not been offline for very long.....
3 - Dealing with Site Submissions - Owning a few directories, I've got to deal with a decent amount of submissions per day... Pagerank helps quickly decifer if others think the site is important.
