How many headings can one page have?
By looking at Google’s own Blog we may get a clue.
As long as a sufficient amount of content follows headings (H2, H3) it seams Google is forgiving (if not rewarding) as many as you can stuff on a page.
MSN, and Yahoo give great weight to headings.
So keep up the good work with headings and rise to the top in SERP’s:ipep:

in my experience I have never has a problem with one H1 tag and one H2 tag.....
Mostly I consentrate on having only one heading though...
normally i blend down from h1 at the top say h3 in the middle and h6 at the end of the page, the h tags help so i use them were i can and it sorta fits in naturally so you dont notice but its still a heading,
it cant hurt if you use them in my experience, and im still a noobie!
lots more to learn, Use them but dont abuse them :)
On average id say i might use 2 or 3 heading tags in a page

I always make sure the title and heading are the same and never repeat H1 again on that page. I read that having an "unclean tag" is bad for example <H1 style="heading"> is that right?
headings can be used to great effect for rankings, but i've also seen them being completely ignored if they seem spammy or the keyword density is too high.

As long sufficient relevant content follows...i think you can safely use any number of <h> tags on the page

Hi!
I think that if h2,h3 tags used with keywords and at relevant places with appropriate content will definitely help in increasing SERP of site.
So,i think that header is as important as proper selection of keywords.
