Customer Rating: Summary: Functional but strange Comment: My creative Labs Zen's navigation button broke after 2 years of use, so I had to buy a new MP3 player.
I was able to pick up this unit - SanDist Sansa m250 2 GB MP3 through Amazon for 29.99 plus shipping. The unit works, but I have a couple complaints:
Here is the bad.
1) Songs don't always alphabetize correctly; they seem to come close, but not exact.
2) The list of songs starts with a long list of title that begin with something like ". _01 songname". When I press one of these titles, the player goes through a seemingly random list of songs, and plays a seemingly random song. This is very strange.
3) This player eats batteries really fast.
I called customer service, and the person I talked to had an I.Q. no higher than that of a plant.
Here is the ok.
FM radio works, but to my knowledge has no presets. Also, to my knowledge, you can't record FM radio.
The player also has a stopwatch - something I probably will never use.
I have not been able to figure out how to use the playlist. This may be because I am using a Mac computer, and the player is looking for a Windows Media Player type playlist.
Technical support said that this machine works better with Windows operating system than with a Mac. If you are using a Mac this may not be the best choice for you.
Here is the good:
The player properly reads song tags, so you can find songs by artist, album, genre etc (if tags on your songs are properly input)
The voice recorder works.
The Equalizer works, and is easy to use.
I almost sent the player back because of the problems with not alphabetizing songs correctly, but I figured for $30, its not worth the hassle. If I had to buy another one, I would try something different, however.
Customer Rating: Summary: Mini player is good Comment: I tried to get a new player on EBay for a little less and got what I paid for- didn't work at all. This player is excellent for price. Easy to use and laod.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great product!!! Wish SanDisk still made it. Comment: Very adequate storage for audio books or music. Replaceable AAA battery is best feature if you are traveling or away from a computer for USB charge in most current MP3 players. Price makes it a real value.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works just as I expected Comment: I just bought this player for my new Honda which has an aux port in console. Since I will use it mostly in the car or while walking/running, I didn't need any video so went for what I thought was a very good price. It arrived very quickly and works exactly as expected.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fatal Flaw Comment: Regardless of using Windows Media Player or simply dragging and dropping files, it did NOT want to play the files in alphabetical order. It always looked for track numbers (if available). Even if you sorted the files first in WMP.
If you use WMP and keep everything in playlists, you'll be OK. But if you have various podcasts and songs you want to arrange in your own order of play, forget it. Your chosen order of play will be lost when you sync the songs. Same is true if you rename the files (a, b, c before the file names) in the order you want and then drag and drop.
