Editorial Reviews:

SpongeBob Squarepants Typing 2008 is educational and fun, for kids ages 7 and up. Kids will get to play with SpongeBob and his friends, while improving their typing skills. As typing skills grow, kids also pick up nifty facts about undersea lifeand nautical nonsense!

Summary: Not Compatible with Mac OS X Leopard!
Comment: Despite being billed as "SpongeBob Typing 2008," this version has NOT been updated to work with Macintosh OS X beyond version 10.3. It will NOT run on 10.5 Leopard.

Summary: Good learning tool
Comment: My 8 yr. old wanted to learn to type as fast as I could so I bought her this cd-rom since she loves Sponge Bob. She has already started typing reports for school on the computer so I thought this would be a good teaching tool. The games on it are clever in that it gets them to figure out where all the letters are on the key pad in a timely manner and even times them to get them to beat their previous time. She thought some of the games were a little difficult but, she still likes it. It hasn't held her attention the way I thought it would but, I am still glad I bought it. Telling her to practice typing with Sponge Bob is still easier than getting her to practice piano. Plus, she'll be way ahead of other kids in this area. Heck, I didn't take typing until I was in high school!

Summary: Fun for learning typing
Comment: My 9 year old son really likes to learn typing with this program. There are two modes. One teaches typing step by step and the other is just for fun. It is best if they do the step by step first so they learn all the letters. If they don't, they can still play the games, but it is a little more difficult. Great program for kids since today everyone needs to learn keyboarding!

Summary: Fun but not really updated
Comment: I would be wary and not pay too much for this product. Even though it is 2008, it seems like the programmers just rushed to get something to market and didn't bother to have it fully compatible. I have a Mac and was perturbed by the fact that it ran under a Classic environment. OS X has been out for how long? Then why would anyone create software to fit a MAC OS that has been obsolete for the last 8 years!!!

I felt like I overpaid for this at 10 bucks.
